It was revealed at the end of last year that over 60 million American citizens still existed outside of the US banking system. Those who fall into this category either have no bank account or they have a bank account but regularly use pawn shop loans, payday loans, and other high-interest facilities. The latter is referred to as “underbanked.”

A Directed Acyclic Graph, or DAG, can be best explained as an infinitely connected series of nodes. Put simply, there is no blockchain in the conventional sense - there is a chain of sorts, but no blocks - and instead its design looks more like a messy graph. IOTA are apt to nickname their DAG architecture ‘The Tangle’ for this very reason.

There is a great buzz around cryptocurrencies, which is causing more and more individuals to explore this new industry with the hopes of getting involved in some way. Yet, with fees so high for making cryptocurrency purchases it is no wonder the industry as a whole is still struggling with onboarding new cryptocurrency investors and users.
